Feeding and Nutrition

Rubber Boas are small carnivores that forage for their food rather than actively ambushing prey. They typically find the nest of a rodent and consume all the nestlings.
However, their diet is not only limited to young mammals. They also eat lizards, lizard eggs and birds. Being boas, they typically latch onto one end of their prey and constrict while swallowing the victim whole. (Rodríguez‐Robles, et al. Gape Size).
They have also been observed practicing ophiophagy. When they are presented with snakes that are smaller and able to fit in their jaws, they will sometimes take that feeding opportunity. (Linder Ophiophagy)
